“It turns out I tore my ACL in half and took a few major tears through both medial and lateral Meniscus.”

On the 3rd of February I was shooting for the RedBull Media House with a Phantom Camera. We were shooting for a new short movie to start the year and stepping up the level with some 2500 frames per second super slow motion action.
Kiteboarding has become more and more technical as the years have gone on so I thought the Phantom would be ideal to show every detail and movement so that it’s possible for the brain to process just what is going on.
A few tricks in I hit a kicker and went for a sizeable Mobe 5, I landed a little over the front and collapsed my right knee.
It turns out I tore my ACL in half and took a few major tears through both medial and lateral Meniscus.
Thanks to the
RedBull team in the UK I have got some of the worlds best specialists treating me. I cannot thanks them enough for all the help and support they have given me for the best possible chance of a full recovery.
4 days ago on the 24th of Feb the decision was made to operate back in the UK, the next day I was on a flight back home to London and 4 days later (today) I will be put back together by one of the best knee surgeons world wide who deals with the top premiership football players.
Thanks for all the support from my friends, family and sponsors. I’ll be back before you know it.
